Feeling like a dandelion in a valley covered with flowers of all colors and sorts, swaying towards various directions by the command of the wind, she soared high and low, paying attention only to the present and her emotions.
At the thought of him, her heart leaped and took control of her body like a pirate on his ship. She felt light, less burdened, free, like a princess. No, a queen. He adored her. Everything about her. Her beauty, her flaws, her moods, her mindset. Everything. She knew he held a special place in her heart like a king forever reigning on his rightful throne. She knew that even if they wouldn't stay together for long, he was different, unique, not like the others. He believed; he had faith; was insightful; delicate, and he cared for her; for them and all. A heart that was purer than gold, she, strongly, believed he owned. She couldn't deny the way she felt when she saw his texts; like chocolate melting softly in the mouth, creating a pleasurable sensation, she felt pleased, She felt with him they could conquer everything and everyone. He acknowledge and reminded her of her diversity.
"You'd never be like them because you're not meant to be them; Your difference is what captivates me, blesses me; You're my blessing."
Anyone could've said those words, but because she knew deep within her that he sought genuine love as she did, his words were from his heart. He meant everything he said, but why did fear linger within her? Why did it stop her from flying? Why did it lock up her heart and slightly push away her feelings?
She didn't want to be hurt again. She had been there many times. In a position that was vulnerable and open to hurt, all out of hope. She had only met him a few days ago, and experience had taught her boys who sweetened her heart within a few days of knowing her were vibrant red flags; A no-go zone.
But she felt, strongly, that he was different. He was like her she could tell, pure and genuine; he mustn't be using her. Right? He never asked for anything sexual. Instead, they just vibed with each other and talked about the world.
She looked forward to his messages all day, and all night. She even had her phone close by in anticipation for when she felt it vibrate.
A cycle she had been through before.
"No, I will not allow myself to get attached. You know the pain you dealt with when they left. Do not let your hopes soar too high." She scolded herself.
"If it is meant to be, it'll be." She thought to herself and began to occupy her mind with her hobbies.
She would drown herself in her work, and hours would go by as she worked intensely, but he still managed to linger his way into her mind.
"NO!" She yelled internally, "NO! Stop! He has a life to live, let him live! Stop thinking about him."
She had been through this before, the feelings, the happiness, the pain. She was defending her heart with all her might, but a little part of her still wanted to take that risk. She didn't want to be broken but she felt he wouldn't hurt her. After all, it was all she prayed for. Someone like him.
Maybe it's because of her faith, maybe it's because of her hope, maybe it's because she believes, she dreams. She knows it can be true but she would try to control her feelings and stay truthful to herself.
